Five Women Artists Plus is an internationally known self-funding, London based, group of 25 professional women artists whose aim is to empower and enable each other, by democratic means and group decision, to work together to promote, market and publish their work.

By sharing skills and tasks, staging and promoting exhibitions, or other marketing projects, women, of differing financial status and racial background, pool their labour resources and knowledge to give each other positive support, and encourage group loyalty, through meetings, projects, and goals.

Joan Thewsey and Brenda Brin Booker, painter-graduates of the Slade, founded the group in 1981, in Great Bradley, in Suffolk, and continue as its co-ordinators.

The group welcomes opportunities for exhibiting and publishing their work.
